A beta is coming.
Everything works in the browser today, so there is nothing you are waiting on to start. The desktop app adds the two things a web server cannot do: a local-first copy that keeps working with the Wi-Fi off, and a resource mirror that pulls your course files from Blackboard or Canvas into a tidy folder tree on your own machine.
It is in testing and not ready to hand out yet. When the beta opens, everyone with an account is told.
